Israel Gaza war: History of the conflict explained 23rd of September - Written by Hannah Gilhooly  Palestine and Israel have been in conflict since the late 19th century but it has become stronger in the last year. In the 1900s Palestine gave some of their land to Israel, recently they asked for this land back to which Israel refused. It then turned into a full blown war: Israel bombing Palestine and terrorists flooding Israel. This BBC article informs readers of the history between the two countries and how this conflict came to be.  I think this article is important for people to read as it highlights one of the major world issues at the moment. It is obviously a very sad thing that is happening and lots of opinions are shared on the matter. I just hope that no more innocent people are killed and the conflict ends in peace.  This article does not contain any indirect or direct quotes as it is purely there to inform readers about the conflict.   Oasis: Liam Gallagher says he made the first move to end feud with brother Noel 19 September - Written by Hannah Gilhooly Oasis, an immensely popular band from the 1990s who broke up in the early 2000s, have announced that they are reuniting for a tour in 2025. The band was made up of  Liam and Noel Gallagher, Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs, Paul McGuigan and Tony McCarroll. Noel and Liam began arguing and eventually the band split apart. This NZ Herald article includes many indirect quotes, helping you get the most information out of the story. A t...

National Article - National will ban cell phone use at school  National will be banning cell phone use at all schools across NZ from term 2, this is a policy decided by the National government. As a high school student under the influence of this new rule I think it is pointless. All it is doing is making students more sneaky with their phones and using their computers for the same things (you can download all the social media apps on your computer) I do think that the new rule has impacted my friend group positively, we are more social at lunch and break time. Though I can't say the same for the many people around the school still using their phones. The article is written very formally and doesn't have any direct quotes and only a few indirect ones. National wrote 'Students only have one shot at their school years, and we want to help them make the most of their valuable class time.' I think the National article is very biased. It is only written from Nationals point ...
