OASIS - Back Together and Stronger Than Ever

Oasis: Liam Gallagher says he made the first move to end feud with brother Noel

19 September - Written by Hannah Gilhooly

Oasis, an immensely popular band from the 1990s who broke up in the early 2000s, have announced that they are reuniting for a tour in 2025. The band was made up of Liam and Noel Gallagher, Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs, Paul McGuigan and Tony McCarroll. Noel and Liam began arguing and eventually the band split apart. This NZ Herald article tells us that Liam has ended the feud with his brother and reunited the band.

As a fan of Oasis, this news is very exciting though I don't think they will be able to complete the tour before something happens; splitting them up again. Their first feud started over a leather jacket, Noel said in an interview shortly after Oasis's first break, do we really think they are going to last? I certainly hope so.

This NZ Herald article includes many indirect quotes, helping you get the most information out of the story. A text from Liam Gallagher to a fan on Twitter/X when asked "what's happening" said: "Rite so we’re in this band called oasis decent he’s a guitarist I’m the singer and we’re gonna do some gigs nxt year hope that’s cleared things up" He was then asked who ended the feud between the brothers, to which Liam replied to with: "I called him but don’t tell anyone as I don’t wont folk thinking I’m a soft lad and stuffs keep it between me n you cheers". All the quotes in this article were copies of texts or posts from Liam and Noel on Twitter/X.

I think the NZ Herald article is unbiased as it has many opinions and examples of different people's views on the matter. There are many examples of quotes from different posts and comments. Though the only quotes were from X which makes me think there could have been a more diverse range of opinion.

This article shows the news values of relevance, impact, and prominence. It's a pretty big deal for many Oasis fans worldwide if they now have the option to go to a tour, it also obviously involves celebrities and even if you are not a fan, everyone has heard of Oasis! If you are keen for a ticket, you better get in fast!
